A.A. Burleigh Papers
These are the papers of A.A. Burleigh, one of the first African Americans to attend and graduate from Berea College. Materials include biographical information, correspondence, pension applications, medical and death records, and additional print material.

Anne Pirkle Genealogy Collection
Great-granddaughter of James Williams Fee (John G. Fee's brother) and daughter of Virginia Fee Carpenter, Anne Carpenter Pirkle (1920 - 2007) was a dedicated family genealogist. Pirkle compiled the genealogy charts of the Fee family which can be found in bound format at the Berea College Special Collections and Archives. Anne Pirkle attended the University of Alabama and spent much of her life in Tennessee. She passed away in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 86.
Anti-Slavery Collection
The Anti-Slavery Collection contains essays, addresses, reports, letters, business and legal records, research notes, and other materials collected by Berea College librarians through donation and purchase. These items document the institution of slavery, the anti-slavery movement, the conflict over slavery, and the aftermath of slavery in the United States of America.

John F. Gregg Papers
John F. Gregg, descendant of John Gregg Fee, founder of Berea College, was born in Bracken County, Ky, in 1850. He graduated from Berea College in 1875 alongside two classmates: John R. Rogers and A.A. Burleigh. He later became a Berea College trustee and was a member of the board of trustees which called William Goodell Frost to the presidency of the College. He passed away in Genoa Ohio in 1931.

Richard Sears Research Collection
Richard D. Sears was Professor of English and Theatre, 1967-2010, and the Chester D. Tripp Chair in Humanities at Berea College. He has published numerous books and articles on various aspects of Kentucky history including the abolitionist movement, Camp Nelson, and Madison County. In particular, Sears devoted many years to researching and writing about the origins of Berea College and it founding members and families.
